NEUROTOXINS AND THE MASSETER MUSCLE
According to a recently published article in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (January 2019), botulinum toxin injections to the masseter muscle showed improvement in contouring the lower face as well as reducing stress on the jaw. I personally used to struggle with jaw clenching and had episodes of significant pain (especially during PA school!). I have been using neurotoxins such as Botox for many years to decrease the ability to clench the masseter muscle in the jaw. It has helped significantly! Give me a call or send an email and I am happy to discuss this further!
